Evaluating Methods of Estimation and Modelling Spatial Distribution of Evapotranspiration in the Middle Heihe River Basin, China
نویسندگان
چکیده
Seven models commonly used to estimate the daily reference evapotranspiration (ET0) were evaluated in the middle Heihe River Basin of the arid northwestern part of China. The objectives of the study are to choose the appropriate model for estimating the areal distribution of ET0 and to explain the spatial–temporal distribution of the same through GIS in the study area. The results indicated that the FAO-Penman model is the best way to estimate ET0; its RMSE ranged from 1.11 to 1.70 mm, and r 2 from 0.59 to 0.93. The spatial variations of ET0 are higher in the western part than in the middleeastern part of the study area. The temporal variations of daily differences in ET0 rates are mainly due to the differences in irradiance (Rn) and to daily differences in the vapor pressure deficit (D). The spatially modeled ET0 results (r 2 = 0.88) are in agreement with the corresponding data in situ on the 15th of each month.

Monitoring of Evapotranspiration in a Semi-Arid Inland River Basin by Combining Microwave and Optical Remote Sensing Observations
As a typical inland river basin, Heihe River basin has been experiencing severe water resource competition between different land cover types, especially in the middle stream and downstream areas. Terrestrial actual evapotranspiration (ETa), including evaporation from soil and water surfaces, evaporation of rainfall interception, transpiration of vegetation canopy and sublimation of snow and gl...
متن کاملModeling Ecohydrological Processes and Spatial Patterns in the Upper Heihe Basin in China
The Heihe River is the second largest inland basin in China; runoff in the upper reach greatly affects the socio-economic development in the downstream area. The relationship between spatial vegetation patterns and catchment hydrological processes in the upper Heihe basin has remained unclear to date. In this study, a distributed ecohydrological model is developed to simulate the hydrological p...

A distributed model for simulating the land surface hydrological processes in the Heihe river basin was developed and validated on the basis of considering the physical mechanism of hydrological cycle and the artificial system of water utilization in the basin. Modeling approach of every component process was introduced from 2 aspects, i.e., water cycle and energy cycle. The hydrological proces...
متن کاملMapping the Soil Texture in the Heihe River Basin Based on Fuzzy Logic and Data Fusion
Mapping soil texture in a river basin is critically important for eco-hydrological studies and water resource management at the watershed scale. However, due to the scarcity of in situ observation of soil texture, it is very difficult to map the soil texture in high resolution using traditional methods. Here, we used an integrated method based on fuzzy logic theory and data fusion to map the so...

Reference Evapotranspiration (ET0) is a basic parameter for determination of irrigation program. It is one of the most important factors in water resources management and considers as a requirement for every irrigation and drainage plans. Because of the spatial variations of ET0, it is necessary to use from intrapolation methods in order to estimation of this parameter in regional studie. Using...
